We are sad to announce that Pieter passed away suddenly on August 26, 2026, at 52 years of age, at his residence in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Pieter was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He completed his engineering studies at the University of Saskatchewan and worked for the Department of National Defence as a civilian researcher in Victoria and Winnipeg.
Pieter enjoyed reading, board games, and soccer. He was always ready to lend a hand to family, friends, and neighbours. He was an enthusiastic ballroom dancer and appreciated the company of the many good friends he made at the dance studio.
Pieter especially valued spending time with his family. He is survived by his parents, Eeltje and Vivien, his sister Pauline, and relatives in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.
