Marilyn Diane Marsh (Nee Waldbauer)

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Marilyn Marsh of Winnipeg, on Sept 18, 2026, at the Grace Hospital surrounded by her family after a brief illness.

Marilyn was a wife, mother, sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and friend to many. She leaves to mourn her husband Jim after 60 years of marriage, daughters Raquel (Rob) Davies, Natasha (Don) Bertrand, her 2 grandsons Cody and Alex, and her Great Granddaughter Everly. She was predeceased by her dad Ben, her mother Elsie, and her brother Greg.

Marilyn grew up on a farm and later in a small town in Saskatchewan, where she completed school and moved to Saskatoon to attend University. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1966 with a Bachelor of Nursing degree. After graduating, Marilyn met the love of her life, and her soulmate Jim and they married shortly after. They truly were a wonderful example of what love is. Marilyn practiced nursing in Winnipeg, Saskatchewan, Texas, Arizona, and Honolulu. She was accomplished in her career and was proud to have helped many. Marilyn had an avid love of music and was an advanced Pianist with the ability to play complex pieces of music. In her younger years she taught piano and recently took on teaching piano to a member of her book club. Her beloved black Grand Piano had many moves. Marilyn and Jim attended numerous concerts with the Winnipeg Symphany Orchestra, among others, or they enjoyed simply sitting together in their living room with the classical musical played loudly. They also spent many years enjoying the sport of Golf together.

Marilyn stayed home for several years to help Jim with their Veterinary business (Henderson Animal Hospital) doing most of the administrative work. She raised her daughters during this time and cared for the numerous pets in the home. As a family many vacations were taken with yearly camping trips to Hecla, the traditional Madge Lake weekend, visiting Disney World, Big Sky in Montana, and the unforgettable Dude Ranch in Texas. Once the children grew up Marilyn along with Jim took many vacations, including a trip around the world where they visited London, Turkey, India, Hong Kong, Mexico and spent a month in Dubai with friends. A second vacation along with two friends, brough them to Nicaragua where they had decided to zipline and being in their 60’s, they were told they were oldest zipliners they had ever had. Marilyn loved meeting new people and was someone who could just start up a random conversation with anyone but along with being very friendly, Marilyn also loved her solitude, finding her peace sitting under pine trees, or sitting on a rock by a lake. Marilyn was a wonderful nurturing woman. She had a love for children and was always wanting to help others.

We would like to thank all the Doctors and Nurses at the Grace Hospital ICU for their wonderful care, and the Surgeon who tried her best to save Marilyn.

Marilyn’s passing has taken s piece of all our hearts that will never be replaced, but she will live on in our memories. You are forever loved.

As per Marilyn’s wishes there will be no service. A private family celebration of life will follow at a later date.
