WENDY CAROL HARRIS SETTLER

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Wendy Carol Harris Settler at the age of 68 on November 30, 2020.

She is lovingly missed and will forever be remembered by her daughters Laine (Luc Jubinville) and Courtney (John Peterson) and her grandchildren Alexi, Zachari, and Olivier Jubinville. She will be also be remembered by her brothers, Bryan and Grant Harris, their families, her many nieces, nephews and cousins, and by her special friends Len Settler, Lance Denoon, Janice Hooper, Melva Widdicombe and Donna-May Glowaicki.

Wendy was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Edith Harris, and her sister, Deborah Gard.

Wendy was immensely proud of her family, she taught her daughters to be kind, strong, compassionate women. She was their rock and always their biggest supporter.

Wendy’s love for her family was radiant and the lights of her life were her three grandsons. A visit with Grandma was always filled with fun and laughter, whether making a special recipe, going on an adventure around town, or escaping to the lake.

Almost as much as she loved being a Grandma, Wendy loved the beach, the lake, and the coast. She had such fond memories of Gimli and the family time spent sailing on the Wendebee II. She also treasured the chapter of her life that she spent exploring Vancouver Island.

Wendy’s love resonated beyond her family life and her magnetic energy influenced every path she crossed. She weaved together a cherished community of kindness; she knew how to make everyone feel special and loved and invited many beautiful people into her circle. We know her loss is far reaching.

Wendy had a brilliant sense of style and design, which inspired so many over the years. She loved fashion and spent her working life at many of Winnipeg’s finest boutiques – The Unicorn, Moulé, Robin Kay, and Sue’s to name a few. Wendy had a unique flair and passion that she brought to every relationship and aspect of her life; she possessed a magician-like quality and could effortlessly transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.

If more of us embraced Wendy’s free spirit and positive outlook on life our world would be a much better place. We will all miss her love, warmth, compassion, kindness, and generosity. We know she will be remembered with fondness by many and her fun, loving, nature and beauty will live on in our memories and stories.

We would like to thank the wonderful team at CancerCare Manitoba. Donations to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation in Wendy’s name would be appreciated.

A celebration of Wendy’s life will be held in spring 2021.
