VICTORIA MACKEW Peacefully on Friday, March 23, 2012 Victoria Mackew of Beausejour, MB passed away at the Beausejour Hospital at the age of 92 years. Left to forever cherish Vickie’s memory is her daughter, Joyce Elkins and son-in-law Larry Mitchem of Granite City, Illinois; as well as numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Ludwig and Clara Pastula and was the last surviving of her eight siblings. Vickie was born in Winnipeg on August 2, 1919. She originated the Vickie’s Snack Bar in 1950 and operated the business 34 years. She was involved with the Beausejour Legion and the Roman Catholic Women’s League. Vickie played cribbage, bingo and other social activities. Prayers were held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 530 Atlantic Avenue, Beausejour, MB. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated this morning, also in the Church, at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will follow in St. Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Baker, Fred Kazina, Gordon McDonald, Darryl Pastula, James Pastula and David Warren. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff of East Gate Lodge and the staff of The Beausejour Hospital. Also very special thanks to Fred Kazina, for all of his time and hard work he did to help my husband and I with the arrangements, and to each and everyone. No flowers please.
