THERESE HELEN (PRESTON) MURRAY
Therese Helen Murray was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on July 7, 1939. She passed away suddenly, yet peacefully, on July 15, 2026, at the Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by her loving family.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Randy (Diane), Jim (Jane), and Cathy (Murray); her cherished grandchildren: Sean (Julie), Christine (Tanner), Chantal (Patrick), Claire (Bryan), Laurie (Derek), Tanner, Amanda, and Matthew; and her great-grandchildren: Shanelle and Ray.
Therese was predeceased by her loving husbands, Jim Preston in 1992; Lance Murray in 1998; and Allan Read in 2012.
After graduating from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate, Terry worked as a lifeguard at Winnipeg Beach. She later worked at Kmart and Mikkelsen Coward Company Limited before starting her own successful cleaning business.
Terry was considered the glue that held the Preston family together. A proud and stubborn Scot, she will be forever remembered for her hilarious one-liners, her huge heart, and her quick wit. She especially enjoyed relaxing on the patio with a Bud Light, spending time with her children, and making lasting memories with her family.
In Terry’s later years, she resided at Sturgeon Creek No. 2 Retirement Residence. Her family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care she received, especially from Shelly.
In keeping with Terry’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Terry’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
