Teresa Wanda Dabrowski

Teresa Wanda Dabrowski lived a life guided by courage, kindness, and a deep love for family.

She was born on April 29, 1951, in Luba? ?l?ski, Poland, and spent her early years in Pu?awy. In 1990, she made the courageous decision to leave her homeland and begin a new chapter in Canada. On December 31 of that year, Teresa arrived in Winnipeg with her family in search of greater opportunity and a better future after living under communism in Poland. Canada became her home for the remainder of her life.

Teresa lived her life with passion and purpose. She found deep meaning in helping others and dedicated many years to working in education, where she loved supporting students and helping them learn and grow. She had a special ability to connect with those adjusting to life in a new language and culture, and she took great pride in seeing her students succeed.

At home, Teresa brought warmth and life to everyone around her. She was known for her gentle patience, her generosity, and her love of learning new skills. She enjoyed decorating her home for holidays and special occasions, planting flowers, tending to her garden, and caring for her fruit trees.

Teresa also expressed her creativity through stained glass and ceramics. Among family and friends, she was especially known as an exceptional cook who loved preparing traditional Polish meals and sharing them with those she loved.

In quieter moments, Teresa could often be found riding her bright red beach cruiser bicycle to Assiniboine Park, walking her poodle through the neighborhood, or stopping to visit with friends and neighbors along the way.

Above all else, Teresa was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother whose gentle spirit, kindness, and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Teresa faced her final chapter with the same quiet strength that defined much of her life. After a courageous six-month battle with cancer, she passed away on March 1, 2026, at the age of 74, surrounded by the love of her family.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Andrzej Dabrowski; her children, Andre and Agnes; her daughter-in-law Aquila and son-in-law Robert; her grandchildren, Daniel and Dominik; her sister Jadzia in Poland; and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her younger sister, Ella.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Ghost Chapel (342 Pritchard Avenue Entrance, Winnipeg, Manitoba) on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. The Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Cemetery (4387 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba).

May she rest peacefully in the loving presence of God, and may the love, kindness, and warmth she shared remain in our hearts until we are reunited again in God’s time.

The Garden of a Life

A life of kindness leaves behind
a garden growing in the mind.
Of gentle words and loving care,
and quiet warmth forever there.

The flowers planted through the years
still bloom through love and grateful tears.
The meals once shared, the laughter bright,
remain like stars in evening light.

Now peacefully the soul may rest
within God’s garden, calm and blessed.
And though our earthly paths must part,
your love remains within each heart.

So rest in peace, free now from pain,
held safely in God’s light again.
And in His time, beyond this life,
our hearts shall meet again.

Zycie petne dobroci pozostawia po sobie
ogród rosnacy w ludzkiej pamieci.
Z tagodnych stów i troskliwej mitosci,
z ciepta, które na zawsze w nas gosci.

Kwiaty zasadzone przez minione lata
wciaz rozkwitaja w mitosci i wdziecznych tzach.
Wspólne positki i smiech tak jasny
pozostaja jak gwiazdy na wieczornym niebie.

Teraz dusza w pokoju moze spoczac
w ogrodzie Boga — cicha i btogostawiona.
A choc nasze ziemskie drogi sie rozchodza,
Twoja mitosc pozostaje w kazdym sercu.

Spoczywaj wiec w pokoju, wolna juz od bólu,
bezpiecznie otulona swiattem Boga.
A w Jego czasie, poza tym zyciem,
nasze serca znów sie spotkaja.
