On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, Sylvia passed away at Golden West Centennial Lodge at the age of 81.
She is survived by her husband George, her sister Patricia (Ted) Saito, sisters-in-law Nina (Doug) Constable, Sandy Christie, Sharon (Mark) Hancock, Lillian Hill and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father Elgar William Shepherd and her mother Elizabeth “Betty” Shepherd.
She was born in Rosehearty, Scotland on November 27, 1944. She spent most of her working career with the Bank of Nova Scotia at different branches in the St. James area.
Sylvia met her future husband George in 1959, at the Air Force Base in Clinton, Ontario, meeting up again in 1965 in Winnipeg after many transfers by both families. George and Sylvia married on May 4, 1968 at the Air Force Base in Winnipeg.
In keeping with Sylvia’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral, cremation has taken place.
