SANDRA LEE SCHREINER (NEE WETTER)

Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Sandy on March 5,2026 in Winnipeg at the age of 61.

She is survived by her mother Arlene Wetter, sister Kim Perillo (Tony), brother Rob Wetter, nephews Joel Perillo (Carlee) and Matteo Perillo (Silvia), niece Kayla Perillo (Matt), great niece Charlie, her dogs Jack and Maggie and uncle, aunts, cousins and good friend Nadia.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Rodney Schreiner, her father Robert Wetter, grandfather Edward Striowski, grandmother Alice Striowski, Opa Nicolas Wetter and Oma Tilly Wetter.

Sandra had a passion for gardening; while lighting up any room she entered similarly to the flowers, she would decorate her home with. She was a simple, soft-spoken individual that showed her love in many ways from cooking to taking care of others and possibly letting you win during a game of cards. She was a natural care giver though it was a profession for a time, she would never call it a job and that love for giving care was put into everything she did (even her world-famous pickles). Like the still waters of her cabin at lakeshore heights, we pray she rests in peace and continues to spread her love throughout the land she called home.

Thank you to the staff at Grace Hospital.

At the request of Sandy, there will be no service and a private celebration of life will take place at a later date.

“Sandy, with hands in the soil, made every flower bloom. Her garden was a haven, her love a gentle perfume. In every petal, in every leaf, we’ll carry her memory, bright as spring’s relief.”

Rest in Peace
