SALLY ANN ROSE (NÉE THOMPSON)
SEPTEMBER 14, 1954 – MAY 30, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sally Ann Rose on May 30, 2026, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer, Sally passed away peacefully at the age of 71, surrounded by her loving family.
Sally was predeceased by her husband, Bob Rose, in 2014. She is lovingly remembered by her partner, Doug Koval; daughter, Margarette Rose; son, Robert Rose (Christy); grandchildren, Justin, Addison (Tyson), and Matthew; sisters, Lois (Brian), Donna and Brenda (Bob); and nieces Jessica, Elaina, Lauren, and Mandy.
Sally was an avid dart player and proudly spoke of her time as a nationally ranked competitor. She also worked alongside a dedicated group of fellow players to help establish the Northern Ontario Darts Association.
During her retirement, Sally embraced every opportunity to travel. She enjoyed the ‘sister trips’, reconnecting and making lasting memories together. She also shared many tropical vacations with Doug and made frequent visits to see family in the Dominican Republic.
As a longtime season ticket holder for the Blue Bombers, Sally loved bringing friends and family along to cheer on her favorite team. Never one to sit idle, she also dedicated her time to serving on her housing co-operative board, always striving to make her community a better place for everyone.
The family extends a special thank you to Doug for the love, support, and care he provided during Sally’s final months.
In keeping with Sally’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sally’s memory to support CancerCare Manitoba, whose exceptional care and treatments extended Sally’s life far beyond anyone’s expectations.
