Rosario left us peacefully, on Friday, March 2, 2012 surrounded by the presence of her loving family. Remaining to forever cherish Rosario’s memory are her devoted daughters Leilani (Dennis) and Llamour (Eugene); sister Primitiva (Ricardo Sr); brothers Mariano, Emeterio, and Emiliano; as well as numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; extended family and friends in the Philippines and Canada. She was predeceased by her mother Ines Darlucio; father Rosendo Juan; and brother Simeon. On October 7, 1941 Rosario was born in Panghulo, Obando, Bulacan, Phillipines. She immigrated to Canada in 1969. During her early years, she met and married Romeo Torres and started a family. Rosario’s greatest joy in life was her family and friends. She enjoyed going on mini-vacations, visiting friends, and gardening. She loved to laugh and would crack up jokes. Rosario brought joy and love to our hearts. Rosario had a determined heart and soul which endeared her to all those privileged enough to have known her. Her courage was never more evident than after she began her fight against cancer. Despite the challenges, she focused on making a difference in her own life and the lives of those around her. On Thursday, March 15, 2012 a Celebration of Rosario’s Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. Interment will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to everyone at CancerCare Manitoba, the caregivers, the nurses, and the doctors for their care and compassion. If so desired, donations in Rosario’s memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.Publish Date: Mar 10, 2012Publish Date: Mar 10, 2012   As published in the Winnipeg Free Press on March 10, 2012
