It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Follett, who passed away at Riverview Health Centre on August 28, 2026, following a lengthy battle with dementia and heart failure. He was 84 years old.
Ron grew up in Miami, Manitoba, where he spent his early years helping on the family farm. He later moved to Winnipeg, where he began his career as a metal fabricator with Dominion Bridge and built a life and family of his own.
After retiring, Ron found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren. He devoted much of his retirement to caring for them and treasured the time they shared. His family will remember him for the important role he played in their lives and for the many memories they made together over the years.
Ron will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his daughters, Sara (Kevin) and Jennifer; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Ethan; his sister, Myrna; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was predeceased by his parents, Violet and John Follett; his twin brother, Reg; his sisters, Audrey and Leah; and his nephew, Butch.
A private and informal burial of Ron’s ashes will take place at Miami Manitoba Cemetery on September 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends who wish to attend are welcome to join us in remembering and celebrating Ron’s life.
