ROBERT WILLIAM MORTON
At the age of 92, on September 13, 2026, Robert passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Grace Hospital.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. Robert was predeceased by his wife Vivian (Minton) and his father John Morton and mother Annie (Gillan). He is survived by his sister Helen Strang (Richard) of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and children Linda Hoban (Daniel) from Calgary, Bob (Jillian), Peter, Brian (Colleen), Michael (Jocelyn) from Winnipeg. Along with many grand children, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Robert was born on April 15, 1934, in Sydney Mines (a Cape Bretoner through and through). He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force at the age of 17, serving for 26 years in Trenton, Ontario and Winnipeg as an aircraft technician. Following his retirement, he pursued his passion for vintage autos and would often attend the numerous car shows in and around Winnipeg generously donating to the many charities involved in these events.
The family wishes to convey their heartfelt thanks to the first responders as well as the staff at the Grace Hospital for their kindness and compassion. We are extremely grateful. Dad was never one to stand on ceremony, so there will not be a service. A donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by family.
