I met Dick in the late 1970s when I was a young commercial artist just starting out, and was referred to Dick to do some illustration work. That began many years of working with Dick on various projects. He was a stickler for detail and knew what he wanted for both himself and his client. He helped guide me in my freelance work in those early years. To me, he was not only my first freelance client but also a mentor and friend.
