RAYMOND BARANOWSKI

March 7, 2012

RAYMOND BARANOWSKI 1938 – 2012 It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Raymond Baranowski. He fell asleep peacefully with his family by his side on March 7, 2012. Remaining to forever cherish Ray’s memory is his mother, Alfreda Baranowska; beloved wife Margaret of 53 years of marriage; daughters Angie Baranowski, Michele (Jerrold) Gilbertson; son Darryl (Vicky) Baranowski; as well as grandchildren Courtney (Sean), Justin (Andrea), Graeme (Amber) and Veronica. He was predeceased by his infant sister Gertrude Baranowska. On October 1, 1938 Ray was born in Eliaszowka, Poland. The family moved from Poland to many places including India and England before finally settling in Winnipeg. He met the love of his life, Margaret, on March 23, 1956. They married October 31, 1958 and started their family. Through his life he worked at several occupations, and although successful at all of them, the most important one was the one that didn’t pay him a cheque, his family. Ray was a kind, loving, generous person who freely gave of himself. He was very active in the local community supporting his children’s sporting activities if not on the bench then in the stands. He was the Dr. Dolittle of Wolseley. There was no animal too small or large for his generosity. He learned of and trusted in Jehovah God’s promise of a resurrection hope found in the Bible in John 5:28, 29 when all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. A Service of Remembrance will be held Friday, March 16, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1060 Wolever Avenue, with Ray’s dear friend Ricardo Braz officiating. A private Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.   As published in the Winnipeg Free Press on March 10, 2012
