RAYMOND ALEXANDER MACKIE

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Ray Mackie, 96 years of age, on November 8, 2022 at Oakview Place on Ness Ave.

Raymond (Ray) was a son of Scottish immigrants William and Helen Mackie and raised on Landsdowne Ave. He had four brothers Bill (Alice), Norman (Helen), Harold (Edna), Walter and a sister Mary (Bill) Middleton.

Ray was predeceased by his wife Esther Merle Mackie (Gilson) and leaves behind his sons Douglas (Joann) and Brent (Andrea) along with grandchildren Myra (Garrett Single), Brydan (Rebecca),Caitlin, Spencer (Kayla) and Fiona. He also leaves behind 8 great grandchildren.

Ray worked at Canadian Aircraft Electronics (CAE) for most of his career and later Pulse Engineering.

Ray and Esther enjoyed many years of curling at Deer Lodge Curling Club and relished time at their cottage on West Hawk Lake and all the friends they met along the way.

The family thanks all the wonderful, caring staff on Daffodil Lane at Oakview Place who made a home away from home for Dad.

A celebration of life will be held at 371 Overdale St. on November 26th beginning at 2pm.
