PHYLLIS ROGOSKI

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Elizabeth Rogoski at the age of 83 years.

Remaining to forever cherish Phyllis’s memory are her brother Ted (Stephanie); two daughters Kelly (Glenn) and Lianne (Rob); six grandchildren James, Michaela, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Brett and Braeden; Dallas; many very special relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Richard (Bob); parents Anne and Peter; sister Rose, and niece Janice.

Phyllis was born in Pleasant Home, Manitoba on August 29, 1934 and grew up on her family farm. She attended Prout School and went on to attend high school in Teulon. She retired as a Leasing Consultant in 2000 at the Meadows Apartment Complex having worked there for several years. Prior to that, she worked at Holt Renfrew and K-Mart. Phyllis’s faith was a big part of her life. She was a regular member at Sunday worship. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Phyllis and Bob met in Winnipeg Beach and were married on June 11, 1955. They built their house in St. James in 1963 and had lived there ever since. She loved spending time in her garden and tending to the beautiful flowers in her yard. Countless hours were spent through the years with Phyllis’ dear neighbors; Wally and Vicki and her brother Ted and Steffie. Weekends were spent in Winnipeg Beach and Matlock where Phyllis’s mom and Bob’s parents lived. The kids loved spending time out there where they could play with their cousins and enjoy everything cottage country provides like trips to the beach, the chip stand and the candy store. In the early nineties, the cottage at Cape Coppermine was built by the family and many happy days were spent at the cottage. It was a meeting place for all on a weekend basis. Family pets were a big part of her life and she made their lives as pleasant as they made her life. The grandchildren were always there to support “Nana” as she had always been there to support them as they grew up. Phyllis always put everyone’s priorities ahead of her own and this was evident throughout her life. Phyllis was a strong woman who lived life on her own terms and enjoyed it to the fullest.

Special thank you to the ICU staff at Seven Oaks hospital for their care and compassion in our time of need. We would also like to thank Dr. David Breckman and his assistant Nicole at the Assiniboine Clinic for their professionalism over the years. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd. at Grant Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Phyllis’ name can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
