Pearl Florence Tichon, 78, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 26, 2025. She was born on January 14, 1947, in the South Bay area near Winnipegosis, Manitoba, to Edward and Olga Rosteski.

Pearl is survived by her husband, John Tichon, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Wayne (Tanya), Glenn (Joanne), and Roger (Shirley). She cherished her seven grandchildren, Brent (Brianne), Kyle, Amy, Ryan, Monica (Brady), Joel, and Michael, as well as her two step-grandchildren, Cheynne and Dalton. Pearl was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Hector and Marlo.

She is survived by her sisters Helen (Doug), Darlene (Bill), Dolly (Jim), Joan, and Mae (Alan), her brothers Walter, Marvin, and Dennis (Linda), and her brother-in-law Slowko. Pearl was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Olga Rosteski, her parents-in-law, John and Mary Tichon, her sisters, Elsie and Diane, and her brothers-in-law, Keith Kulcsycki, Hank McArthur, Jack Paddock, and sister-in-law, Pat Tichon.

Pearl attended high school in Winnipegosis. In her early years, she worked as a waitress and later returned as a cook in Winnipegosis restaurants. She completed her GED and Health Care Aid training. She worked on the farm, maintaining large vegetable and flower gardens, and operated farm machinery alongside her husband, John. Pearl worked at Winnipegosis Hospital, Dauphin Hospital, and St. Paul’s Personal Care Home as a Health Care Aid, where she made lifelong friends.

Pearl had a passion for cross-stitching, sewing, and knitting, creating keepsakes for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was actively involved in her church, community hall, and apartment building, always eager to lend a helping hand.

A funeral service will be held at Saint John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 3390 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, on March 8 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, Manitoba at a later date. Honorary pallbearers are Brent, Monica, Kyle, Joel, Michael, Amy, and Ryan.

Celebration Mass on May 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM at St. Viator’s Roman Catholic Parish in Dauphin.

Interment to follow in the Riverside Cemetery, and lunch in the Parish hall.
