Remembered With Love

Paul Zubec was born in Port Arthur, Ontario in June of 1938. Growing up in Thunder Bay, Paul enjoyed many activities and sports and continued the friendships he made throughout his life.

Paul married Janet, the love of his life in 1966. They enjoyed 57 years together. They were blessed with two sons, John Paul (Elizabeth) and Matthew (Glynis) and four grandchildren, Payton, Ella, Ainslie and Lukas. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Helen (neé Duchminiski) and sister Evelyn (Jim) Portelance. He is survived by his sister Betty (Roland).

Paul moved to Winnipeg in 1966 were he started a career in Pharmaceuticals and spent 38 years in the industry. With his career, this allowed Paul and his family to travel extensively and enjoy sightseeing throughout North America. Paul was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church and the Knights of Columbus. He also volunteered with a number of organizations and associations over the years. He supported countless community-based organizations and coached many local sports teams. Through all these ventures, it was the fellowship and friendships he made that Paul cherished most of all.

Gigi as known by his grandchildren, was naturally a source of great pride and very special to him. He loved and supported them in any activity they were involved. Gigi was well known for giving out his “advice”.

In retirement he enjoyed golf and travelling. Gigi will be remembered for his thoughtfulness, kindness, love and support.

Celebration of Gigi’s life will be held at St Paul the Apostle Church on Portage Avenue on September 14 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the church.
