OREST THOMAS ALLISON

Orest Thomas Allison of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 86. After several months of declining health, Orest died peacefully with his beloved wife Doris and their children by his side.

Orest was born in Poplarfield, Manitoba, on July 2, 1935, to Tom and Anna Zasitko. He worked along with his grandparents on the family farm at Poplarfield, MB.
In 1950 he moved to Winnipeg, where he met the love of his life, Doris. They were married in 1954 and together raised their two children, Melanie and Michael.

He worked for Canadian Pacific Railway in the Grains Group his entire career and retired in 1990. Orest and Doris loved traveling and together created many good memories. He loved spending time with his family as it was the center of his life

Orest was devoted to his God, Jehovah, and focused on sharing the good news of God’s Kingdom. He had a reputation for generously helping anyone who needed it. He has a large spiritual family who will miss him dearly.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Doris; children Melanie (Gregg); Michael (Carole); grandchildren Lindsay, Steven (Katrina), and Ryan (Torrey); and the apples of his eyes, his great grandchildren, Aidan and Ella; and his sister Karen (Reg) and nephews Jonathan and Jared.

Orest’s memorial service will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021, at 7:00 pm CST, via Zoom.

The family is deeply grateful to the staff (doctors, nurses, and aides) that cared for him at St. Boniface Hospital, Health Sciences Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, and Riverview Palliative Care.

Flowers graciously declined.
