MARION ISOBEL HENRY

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother after a long and well fought battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis on Thursday, November 22, 2018.

Mom’s memory will be forever cherished by her loving husband Arnold of 67 years; her children Dave (Becky), Don (Carol), Barb Brown (Ian), Ken (Teresa), Brian (Sue); grandchildren Jason (Kim), Sheri (Dave), Charlene, Mike (Melissa), Tyler (Ginette), Leanne, Corey (Breanna), Sarah, Tom, Jennie (Frank); 14 great -grandchildren; as well as her brother-in-law Dave Henry, numerous nieces, nephews and some wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her infant grandson Sean Henry; her sisters; brothers and sisters-in-law.

Mom was born July 23, 1931 to Hester and Daniel McDiarmid. She worked hard both inside and outside her home to help raise her family and we will be forever grateful for having such a wonderful, loving caring wife, mother and grandmother. Mom was well known for her hearty laugh and sense of humour. She enjoyed time with family and friends whether it be dinners, travelling or going to dances with Dad. The grandchildren loved grandma’s iced cookies, chocolate cake, oatmeal cookies and the Henry chip dip just to name a few.

Honouring Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and will be no formal funeral service. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

We would like to thank River Ridge staff for their support and care in helping to make Mom as comfortable and safe as possible in her home. A special thank you to her home care team, Lisa, Kuljiit (the little devil) and Nicil. Your compassion and respect for our Mom has meant the world to us and Mom herself. A special thank you to Ken, Guy and Miriam for their visits to Mom’s suite when she could no longer join them in their dining room.

In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation in Mom’s name to a charity of your choice.

We love and miss you already Mom.

Rest Peacefully xo
