MARILYN BYLE

(nee ELKE)

On Friday, May 18, 2018 Marilyn Byle, age 67, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Portage La Prairie, MB on March 11, 1951 and lived most of her life in Winnipeg.

Left to forever cherish Marilyn’s memory are her loving partner Norman Hrynko; sister Sharon; her children Jeremy (Abby), Deja (Albert); grandchildren Talia, Logan, Livia and Reid, also many extended family members including Peter (Debbie), Doug (Kim), Karlie, Chase, Tim and Hailey, and so many, too numerous to name wonderful friends and colleagues. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Irene Elke (nee) Fredbjornson, and brother Kenneth Elke.

Marilyn earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree and worked as a truly caring and devoted advocate for families and children with Winnipeg Child and Family Services for most of her career. She was a loving and compassionate person who cherished her family and friends and was always there when you needed her. Marilyn was feisty and sharp as a tack, had a wicked sense of humor with a side of sarcasm, and loved a good chat with a glass of wine to go with it!
