LUCILLE “LUCY” NEUFELD

(nee CHOUINARD)

October 11, 1948 – February 5, 2019.

     It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lucy, our dear wife, Mom and Grandma at the age of 70 years. Lucy passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at Riverview Health Centre. She remained strong and beautiful to the very end.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband Stan; children Cathy (James) and Michael; grandchildren Breanne (Braden) and Travis; sisters Alice, Cécile, Eva (Raymond), Adeline (Jim); brothers Denis (Doreen), Victor (Cecilia), Lucien and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Alexia Chouinard and sisters Annette and Thérèse.

She had a fiery spirit balanced with a strong Catholic faith. She had an overwhelmingly huge heart and cared for all living creatures. Her passions were gardening, travelling the world, in particular Costa Rica and watching her favourite sport teams such as the Goldeyes, Jets, Bombers and Cowboys. Especially Tony Romo, whose ambition she valued which was to strive to get better every day. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church, 249 Arnold Avenue at Osborne Street.

The family wishes to extend an abundance of gratitude to the many health care teams that cared for her during her 5 month battle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or Jack’s Cat Rescue.
