LORRAINE ROUSSEAU

“What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.”

The family of Lorraine Rousseau is saddened to announce her passing on July 16, 2021, at Seven Oaks hospital in Winnipeg, at the age of 88.

Lorraine is survived by her three children Christine, Toriann and Robert Ashton; younger siblings Wayne, Gene and Judith; and cousins, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents Maxim and Esther Rousseau; and siblings Arthur, Louise, Raymond and Lucille.

Lorraine was born in Winnipeg but also lived in Montreal, Victoria, Toronto and Cobourg, Ontario. She was an active member of her church community and enjoyed cooking, gardening and numerous handicrafts; there was never a time when she wasn’t knitting, sewing, or making dolls and stuffed toys. She was always ready to lend a hand or offer advice to both friends and family, and her wisdom and practical nature will be greatly missed.

Interment of ashes will be at St. Cecelia Church in Inwood, Manitoba at a later date.
