JUNE 2, 1936 — SEPTEMBER 16, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Loretta Anne Hollins at the age of 90, known to most as Laurie.
Laurie was predeceased by her parents, Pauline and Felix Forkheim, sister Mary Bedard, brothers Alfred and Tony Forkheim and the love of her life, George (Barry) Hollins.
She is survived by her daughter Gayle Brennan (Shannon), sons Glenn (Karen), Jeff (Sharon) and Kevin (Bonnie) as well as 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Laurie lived a full life. Over the years she enjoyed many leisure activities including bowling, board and card games (especially Rummoli, Scrabble & King’s Crib) with friends and family, and became “hooked” on fishing after proudly catching her master angler walleye. In her early years she worked as a manager for a finance company and was briefly a Blue Bomberette cheerleader.
After her and Barry were married in 1957, they started their family and she took great pride as an excellent homemaker. She also loved gardening and tending meticulously to her many many flowers. In retirement, Laurie and Barry enjoyed many winters snowbirding in southern states, mainly in Arizona.
Laurie was a devoted wife and loving mother. She had a big heart and loved everyone she knew unconditionally. She will be missed by so many but happy memories will be remembered for so many reasons.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Siloam Mission.
As per Laurie’s wishes, a small family funeral will be held at a later date.
