LOIS JANE GILMOUR WALSH

 (NÉE BOWLES)

We are sad to announce the passing of our dear Mother and Aunt on Saturday evening of August 1, 2020.  She came into this world as a fighting spirit in Fort William, Ontario on July 15, 1936.  She was a very talented child studying ballet and piano.  She took her music studies to a higher level while studying at the Brandon University.  She was an adventurous lady, living in many different cities, with Jasper, Alberta being one of her favourite homes.  Lois always loved a good laugh and appreciated learning new and innovative aspects of life.  She was a lover of animals and of all living things.  She was predeceased by her father Clarence Bowles and mother Rebecca Helen Bowles as well as her sister Ellen Anne Munro Gilmore.  She will be sorely missed by her loving daughter Rebecca (Jean-Paul) and her precious grandchildren Zachary, Erik, John and Lorelei.  She also leaves behind her nieces, whom she loved very much – Suzanne (Robert), Melanie and Candace (Mitchell), her brother-in-law Denis Gilmore and many dear cousins.  We know, Lois, that you are now playing your favourite duets with your sister and laughing together.  Lois advised all to have a shot of brandy for every ailment, but especially to keep your pipes open.  We know that she would agree – “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!”  Lift a toast to a colourful lady and have a good day!   Should you desire, please give to a favourite charity that benefits animals or birds.  Interment will be at a later date beside her sister in Thunder Bay.
