KEVIN NORMAN MEIXNER

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Norman Meixner on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.

Left to cherish Kevin’s memory is his wife Karen; sons Jordan and Tyler; mother Shirley; his two brothers Wayne (Judy) and Rick (Gina) as well as several nieces and nephews, great nephews, great niece, extended family and his aunts, who were all his favourites. He was predeceased by his father Wayne, just a short month prior to Kevin’s passing.

Kevin was born in Winnipeg on July 29, 1964 and grew up in St. James. He was always a big part of the community growing up, whether he was playing or coaching sports, so it was natural that he wanted to stay in St. James and continue to be involved with community and carry on that passion to his sons. His sons were everything to him and he proudly became deeply involved in all their activities and sports.

Kevin was a true extrovert, he loved being and interacting with people as he felt that life was about connecting with family and friends; everything else was secondary to him. It was that same focus that he brought to his love of sports and his career. Both were more about the people than anything else.

Kevin’s gift was his sense of humour, quick wit and his ability to make everyone feel special and included. He never lost touch with old friends and always continued to make new friends. It was the reciprocal outpouring of support from family and friends that made Kevin’s pain bearable and we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the love and support Kevin received throughout his illness.

A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held at the Sturgeon Heights Community Centre at 210 Rita Street on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 3:30 p.m.

If you wish, a donation can be made to Siloam Mission – https://www.siloam.ca/donate/ as Kevin strongly believed a person should never be alone and they should always have a home to call their own.
