JUDITH “JUDY” LORRAINE LINDSAY

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Judith Lorraine Lindsay (nee Reese) on Wednesday October 3, 2018 at the Grace Hospital. Born in Winnipeg to her beloved parents Irvin and Elvina Reese, Judy grew up in Starbuck, where she married Robert Lindsay and raised her daughter Lorrie, and engaged in many adventures and exploits with her family and friends, including countless summers at the lake. For many years, Judy was the school secretary at Starbuck School and Sanford Collegiate, and her family was very involved in the building of the Starbuck Arena.

After leaving Starbuck, Judy held administrative positions with various organizations in Winnipeg including the Salvation Army, and she was the coordinator of volunteer services at Grace Hospital for many years. She enjoyed her retirement years watching curling, hockey, as well as going out for dinner and dancing and on trips with her loving partner, Bertil Johnson. Judy was feisty and spirited and she was sure to keep tabs on her family and friends.

Judy was predeceased by her beloved parents, Irvin and Elvina Reese, and sister Elaine Rogers (nee Reese). She leaves behind brother Dennis and many loving friends and family, who will miss her more than words can say.

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at the Charleswood Legion in the Tank Room, 5995 Roblin Boulevard today, Wednesday, October 10, 2018 between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Special thanks to all of the ICU medical team and staff at Grace Hospital for their kindness and professionalism in caring for Judy. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society or charity of your choice in Judy’s memory would be appreciated.
