(1949 – 2020)
On March 29, 2020 we said our final good-bye to a loving husband and father, a proud Gido and a well-known community member better known as Balloon Man John.
John was very proud of his 35-year career as a Fire-fighter with AECL. Retiring 11 years ago, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, entertaining everyone else’s children with his balloon twisting, and of course spending time with his wife, best friend and partner in all things, Cathleen.
John is survived by Cathleen Kowaluk, his loving wife of 50 years; sons Jason (Kathleen); Sheldon (Jennifer) Kowaluk and grandchildren Emily, Patrick, Olivia, Abigail and Julia, and his sisters Mary, Nadia and Helen. He is predeceased by his parents Fred and Anne, his sister Elsie and his brother Peter.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
