JOAN MCFADDEN

January 26, 1925 – September 4, 2018

On Tuesday, September 4, 2018 Joan passed away peacefully at Lions Manor, Winnipeg, MB.

Left to cherish Joan’s memory are her two daughters, Wendy and her son Terry (Shelli) Barthelette, Joanne (Bob) Nicholls and their children Travis (Ashley), Kelsey and Delaney; great grandkids Carter and Brody Nicholls; as well as sister-in-law Norma Ramsay. She was predeceased by her husband Fred; parents Walter and Lilian Hardingham; mother-in-law and father-in-law Robert and Amy (Dolly) McFadden; son-in-law Frank Barthelette; brother-in-law Fred Ramsay and sister-in-law Olive Hutton.

Joan was born on January 26, 1925 in London, England. She came to Canada as a war bride and worked at Hargraves Drug Store. She also volunteered at CNIB for many years. Joan enjoyed the finer things in life like dessert, dancing and shopping. You could even find her golfing at Island Park.

The family would like to thank all the staff and nurses at Lions Manor for their care. As well as Denis and Sonia Rochon for their dedication to Fred and Joan over the years.

Following Joan’s wishes, there will be no formal service.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s memory be made to Lions Manor, 320 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 2W6.
