With sad hearts we announce the death of Joan Blayden at the age of 90 with her family by her side.    Her family is deeply saddened by her sudden death on Feb 29 due to a brain injury.  Joan was born to Ivy and Gerry Norris on April 21, 1933.

Joan is survived by her children: Karen (Edmond), Chris (Ilene), Debbie (Dean) and daughter-in-law Debbie. Grandchildren: Nikki (Paul), Jeremy, Alain, Janelle (Dani), Jennifer (Kris), Jonathon (Samura), Charlie (Sarah), Tara and Great-grandchildren: Kyle, Makayla, Oliver, Madelyn.

Joan was predeceased by her husband Charles, parents Ivy and Gerry, her sister Margaret, brother David, her in-laws Mamie and Harry, her son David and son-in-law Jacques.

Joan and husband Charlie with their 4 children immigrated to Canada in 1966.  Joan loved her time with kids and grandkids.  She loved playing cards, doing jigsaws puzzles, knitting and reading.

Joan loved her trips to England to visit her sister-in-law Bernie and her niece Katrina along with all her other England family.  Joan loved an adventure; she traveled the world.  Her winters in Weslaco, Texas.   Her summers in Lac du Bonnet spending many days sailing on her pontoon, fishing, baking blueberry pies, playing cards, campfires and get together with family and friends.

Joan was a wonderful, sweet, caring person.  She took much joy in her family and all their accomplishments.

Respecting Joan’s wishes a private gathering will take place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Stars Air Ambulance.  This was Joan’s charity of choice.

Mom you were deeply loved.
We will treasure your memory and your love for all of us!

Rest in God’s peace.
