JEAN PARSONS MIALKOWSKI

(nee STUPPARD)

Beloved wife Jean, held by Waldemar, quietly passed away in the late evening of April 17, 2021, at Grace Hospital Emergency, following several years of declining health.

Born August 13, 1931, to Winnifred and Robert Stuppard, she spent her life in Winnipeg except for the few years the family lived in Calgary prior to WW2.

She is survived by in-law siblings Lorraine, Christine, and Ted, and by a virtual host of nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by brothers Norman, Howard, and Robert, as well as in-law siblings Florence, Carl, and Conrad.

Following high school, Jean eagerly went to work in a variety of junior clerical jobs, mainly in the insurance business till she entered public service with the Province of Manitoba. She advanced from a senior clerical position to an administrative role till marriage had her retire in 1972. Not content to just run a skillful household, Jean worked part time as a senior saleslady for D’Allairds of Canada till the company closed its operations.

So, in second retirement and always energetic, she concentrated her efforts on a fulfilling life.  She liked people, was fond of animals, loved to travel, enjoyed fine dining, cooking, collecting a vast library of recipe books, laughing at good humour, and listening to oldies music. She was bright, cheerful, and wise, a loyal companion, and my best friend.

At her request no service will be held. Just remember her.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to a favourite charity.
