Jason Gerald Devloo

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Jason Devloo on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the age of 46.

Jason is survived by his loving wife Tanya; parents Karen, Richard; brothers Michael (Cheryl), Ryan (Norina), Carl (Natalie); numerous nieces and nephews; a great nephew; and all the people whose hearts he touched.

On October 5, 1997, Jason found his best friend and soulmate Tanya. After just one date, they knew they were destined to be together. Married July 5, 2003, where the love they shared grew deeper over the years.

Jason started working for the City of Winnipeg in 2002 and wore many hats over the years: Winnipeg Transit Bus Operator, Supervisor, Mentor, and Route Trainor.

Jason had a real passion for skiing and helping others, so he joined the Canadian Ski Patrol in 2002. He held various positions with the patrol: Zone Vice President of Operations, Advanced First Aid Instructor, On-Snow Evaluator. He received many awards for these accomplishments: Red River Zone Appreciation Awards, a Zone Life Member Award, a National Appreciation Award and the Canadian Ski Patroller Award. Jason also was a Level 1 Instructor with the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance. The Ski Patrol was more than a group of people to him, to Jason they were family.

Jason was a caring and generous person who enjoyed learning new things and had a great appreciation of many things including listening to music, cooking, going for long drives, fishing, golfing, doing Escape Rooms and hanging out with friends and family.

Final respects may be paid at the viewing on Friday, February 16th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel located at 2157 Portage Avenue. A Celebration of Jason’s Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jason’s name to Heart and Stroke Foundation or CSP Red River Zone.
