JAMES (JIM) CAMERON PHELPS

November 27, 1935 – January 28, 2020

With heavy hearts we are sad to announce the passing of James (Jim) Phelps. Beloved husband (Stella), father (Sandra/Rob), grandfather (Madison/Adam), uncle (Randy) and friend.

Jim left us on January 28, 2020 at the age of 84 years. He lived with Pancreatic Cancer for 19 months and a broken heart following the loss of his wife Stella on January 30, 2016.

Jim’s greatest pride in life were his grandchildren Madison and Adam McGarva. His love, energy, humor and humanity will be missed by his family; Sandra and Rob McGarva, Madison McGarva, Adam McGarva, Randy Sheldon, James and Linda Cohen, Laurie and Gene Poluha, Patricia McGarva and many friends. To Jim, a friend was family. He was predeceased by his sister Gloria, brother-in-law Bob and niece Joanne.

Jim’s passion for life was infectious. He loved and openly embraced family and friends. His passions included sharing stories, bon-fires, hunting, fishing, sunsets, summers at the beach, winters in Phoenix, great food and spirits and of course Tennis, Tennis and Tennis. To Jim all people were friends. All ladies “Sweetie, Honey or Darling” and men “Buddy”.

We are comforted that Jim is with Stella. We are honoured by and embrace the example he set.

A private family interment has taken place. Invitations will be extended for a celebration of life at a later date.
