JAMES ANDREW EDMONDS
MAY 15, 1942 – NOVEMBER 16, 2022

It is with heavy and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Jim after a short battle with cancer at the age of 80 years.

Jim was predeceased by his wife Melvina; brother Wayne (Madeline) and parents Curt and Betty Edmonds.

Surviving Jim is his son Jim (Fiona); granddaughters Jessie and Niki; brother Rick (Rhonda); sisters-in-law Marlene, Marilyn (David); brother-in-law Melvin (Brenda); mother-in law Doris Adams, and many nieces and nephews, and special friend and partner Marilyn Morrison.

The Edmonds family resided in West Kildonan area making many lifelong friendships.

Jim and Mel spent many years in Burnaby, B.C. where they both had thriving careers. They retired in early 2000’s and moved back to Winnipeg to be closer to family and friends, leaving many wonderful friends in B.C.

Jim spent many years living at the Country Villas in Bird’s Hill where he made many great friends and was very active in the community.
Jim was an avid sports fan, loved watching almost any kind of sports on TV. He was actively still golfing 3 times a week and marshalling 2 times a week at Larters Golf Club, enjoying his time with friends, especially John, Jack, Larry and many more.

In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball, curling and spending time at Grand beach with friends (lots of great stories from those days).

Throughout his years Jim achieved 5 holes in ones, very proud moments for him.

He enjoyed spending Saturday afternoons at West Kildonan Legion Branch#30 with his friends hoping to win at the meat draw.

A special thank you to Marilyn Morrison for all the love she gave the past 4 years, visiting him each day at the hospital.

Thank you to all the friends that took the time out to visit Jim in the Hospital or took time to call to find out an update.

Thank you to all who assisted with rides to and from the hospital, it was greatly appreciated.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sen and Dr. Kerr and all the staff at CancerCare, staff on 4S at St. Boniface hospital, staff at GH5 at Health Sciences Centre.

As per Jim’s wishes no formal service will be held and a private family interment will take place at a later date.
