Our mother and oma went home to be with her Lord and Saviour. She is asleep in Jesus waiting to hear His voice.
Mom was born in The Netherlands and had an impoverished childhood especially during the war years. In 1952 she married our father, Jake, and soon had 2 young children. In January 1955 her young family made the big move to Canada to make a better life for her growing family.
Mom is survived by her five children Hubert (Connie), Bill, Cobie (Gerhard), Mary (Alan), and Bruce (Mark); her five grandchildren Craig (Kristen), Kaija (Cody), Brendan (Andrea), Janessa, and Hannah; and 7 great grandchildren Anderson, Etta, Margot, Eli, Carter, Kaisley, and Skylar. Mom is predeceased by her parents Wilhelmus and Gertruda, her husband Jacobus Theodorus, a young son Hendrickes, as well as all of her siblings.
Mom wished for a small service with only close family and friends, and she will be interred at Transcona Cemetery.
A heartfelt thankyou to all the doctors and staff at Winnipeg Health Sciences Center and at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg.
