HÉLÈNE ROSE-MARIE LARAMÉE

(nee SENÉCAL)

Peacefully, on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, with her family by her side, Mom passed away at the age of 84 years after a courageous fight.

She is survived by her children, Lucille Combot (Denis), André (Sandy), Monique Combot (Joël) and daughter-in-law Sheryl, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her siblings Edna, Henri, Emma, Jean, and Claire, brother-in-law Joe; sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and close family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Alphonse and Ida Senecal; husband Gustave; son Mitch; brothers Leon, Rene, Oscar, George, Aime, Adelard; sisters Lucille and Denise; and many other loving family members.

Mom was born on September 21, 1935. She married Gustave Laramée in 1956. In 1958, she helped Gus start their business, Laramée Sales and Service, and welcomed their first child. Over the next eleven years, three more children would join their family. She enjoyed camping with her family, snowmobiling, and tending to her garden. In 1969, she started her 33-year bus driving career. Mom was a very active member of the community, including the church, Young at Heart, and all community club events. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest gifts. Mom truly enjoyed the Senécal family reunions, fully participating in every activity and singing by the bonfire.  She had a unique and infectious sense of fun. Mom enjoyed playing cards and sharing laughs with her special group of friends.

Special thanks to the staff at the Portage Hospital Emergency Department; and the St. Boniface Hospital, including the ICU and the step-down unit for their kind and compassionate care of Mom.
