Left to forever cherish Helene’s memory are sons Thomas (Michele), Richard, Andrew (Evan); grandchildren Erin, Heather, and Christian who she adored; brothers Otto and Edwin Mandau; family friend Hilde Harzan, and numerous friends and relatives throughout Canada and Europe. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred. In 1939 Helene was born in Poland, and lived in Germany until 1956 when she immigrated to Canada. She married Wilfred Lepp in 1962 and together they raised three boys. Helene’s love of swimming lead her to a career with the City of Winnipeg Parks and Recreation Department, where she developed many deep and lasting friendships, especially with the crew from Bonivital Pool, and later with co-workers from the Winnipeg Public Library. She also enjoyed dragon boat racing with her friends from Chemo Savvy. Helene had a strong faith. She loved to garden, and enjoyed her summers at Granite Lake, going for walks, swimming, picking blueberries and mushrooms. She was a constant source of quiet strength; her loving and compassionate nature will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
