HARRY KLAPPRAT A Celebration of Harry’s Life was held on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington Street.Run Date: Dec 24, 2011HARRY KLAPPRAT Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Harry passed into the Lord’s keeping on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. Remaining to forever cherish Harry’s memory are his wife, Frieda; children, Cheryl, Duane and Kathy; grandchildren, Brittney and Cody; brothers, Harold (Millie) and Ernie; sister, Mae; sister-in-law, Helen; as well as numerous brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Daniel; mother, Johanna; brother William; sisters Nora (Gus) and Dorothy (Eddie); as well as his brother-in-law Kashmir. Harry was born on January 11, 1929, to Daniel and Johanna Klapprat on the family homestead in the Carnridge district in the Grahamdale area. After leaving the family farm, he worked in the mines and bush area of Red Lake. After returning to the family farm, he moved to Winnipeg where he remained. On May 16, 1959, Harry married his loving wife of 52 years, Frieda Middlestead and they set up home. Their union was blessed with the birth of two children, Cheryl in 1960, and Duane in 1963. After Duane married Kathy Riddols in 1997, Harry’s pride and joys, Brittney (1998) and Cody (2001), were born. Harry loved the land and the outdoors as well as fixing and building things. He took pride in his backyard garden and many friends and family went home with vegetables. Harry had a strong faith and served on his church board. He believed that any job worth doing was worth doing well. He brought his strong work ethic to his jobs at Swifts and later at Burns. A Celebration of Harry’s Life will be held on Monday, December 19, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. in the Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington Street.
