GRANT SIEMENS

Grant Alexander Siemens passed away suddenly on October 18, 2021 in his backyard, a place he loved.

Grant was born to John and Louise (nee Classen) Siemens on August 17, 1955. The youngest of three boys, the baby of the family.

He is survived by the love of his life Margaret, sons Garry and Kyle (Alex), brothers Rick (Yvonne), Ron (Lori), sister-in-law Christa (Attila). Nieces and nephews, Deavah, Tamara (Steve), Sean (Teresa), Stevan (Marcie), Richard (Candace), and Angie (Mike), and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Spending time with Garry and Kyle meant the world to Grant. He would regularly take them to Thunder Rapids, and enjoy seasonal activities. Always an adventure with his daily bonfires and tactical game playing skills. His favourite pastime was to make Garry laugh and they would laugh lots. The hilariously sweet nicknames they would give each other and everything together and the resulting one liners of their antics made life more enjoyable for everyone.

Grant was proud of Kyle and would tell everyone just how proud he was. He was so happy when Kyle would come back to Winnipeg to visit. They made sure to pack in as much adventure as possible.

Family meant everything to Grant, from his immediate family to extended family and including all his friends. He had a way of making everyone feel special. He was genuine in all his greetings – from his all-encompassing hugs to his firm-handshake. Grant was always full of life, living each day to the fullest. Always full of joy and a true friend to everyone around him, maintaining friendships with many wonderful people.

Grant worked for Purolator where he made some life-long friendships. He had many work stories that made all roll on the floor laughing. From the Weiser Lock imprint to walking into concrete. There was no end to the escapades and thanks to his detailed story telling skills and a twinkle in his eye, you always felt like you were there with him.

His multiple health issues prevented him from doing all that he loved and visiting all those he loved so much.

As his hearing deteriorated, he spent more and more time on his own, dancing to the beat of his own drum, but it never slowed him down

A private service will be held in honour of a life well lived and well loved. Grant was a true inspiration of a person.

As Grant always said “Love ya, Darlin’.”
