GLORIA FLORENCE SMITH

On February 12, 2026 at the Grace Hospital, after a brief illness with her family by her side, Gloria Smith passed away. Gloria was born April 1, 1942 and was raised in St. Germain, Manitoba.

She began working at a young age with her beloved sister, Lorraine at the St. Boniface Hospital. She would go on to meet the love of her life, Al, on a blind date and the rest was history. They went on to have two children, Kevin and Shannon, and were together for 42 years until Al’s passing in 2003. Gloria went back to work later in life and supervised the kitchen at South Winnipeg Tec.

Gloria was predeceased by her husband Al Smith, brothers Theo (Gladys), Armand and Hector; sisters Olive (Albert), Leona (Victor), Lorraine (Adolfe) and her parents, Joseph and Alma Parisien as well as brother-in-law Greg Smith and sister-in-law Beatrice.

She is survived by her son Kevin and grandchildren Brooklynn, Kaitlynn, Gracie, Abigail and Brandon and her daughter Shannon as well as her brother-in-law Kelly in Calgary, brothers Dave (Karen) and Andy, sister-in-law Maureen and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and a Mass of the Resurrection will take place on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vital Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Highway.
