GILBERT WALTER HACK

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gilbert Walter Hack, at the age of 93 years on October 18, 2021 at the Victoria Hospital. Gil was predeceased by his son Kevin Myles; parents Fred & Katie Hack; sister Helen & husband Mike Baumgartner and brother Philip.

Gil will be lovingly remembered & sorely missed by his wife Rhoda; son Garner (Carrilee), treasured grandsons Brady & Colson; brother Clayton and Helene of Kelowna and their family; sister-in-law Mary Hack and family in Melville; Del McKay and family in Saskatoon; nieces Peggy Baumgartner & Patsy Armstrong of Vancouver.

Gil was born and grew up on the family farm near Killaly Saskatchewan, where he also attended school. He later went to Teacher’s college in Moose Jaw. He taught school in his early years prior to his better than 37-year career with the Oil Companies, British American Oil, Gulf and Petro Canada.

Gil, with his family, was active with the Lutheran church wherever they lived as his work took them to different places. After retirement Gil and his family remained in Winnipeg where he enjoyed being an active father in his son’s life. He enjoyed participating in many sports from bowling to golf, going for coffee and sharing stories with his buddies.

A celebration of Gil’s life will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church in Winnipeg on Thursday October 28 at 2:00 pm. He will rest peacefully after a full life with his family at the Riverside Cemetery in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Family and friends are blessed with many fond and happy memories. Until we meet again Gil.
