GERDA VICTORIA CHERNOFF

(NEE JORDAN)

November 7, 1931 – September 29, 2020

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gerda Victoria Chernoff at Golden Links Personal Care Home.

Mom was born in Winnipeg, MB. She was educated in Weyburn, SK and then graduated from the Yorkton General Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She worked in various healthcare facilities through SK and MB. Mom retired from her position as Administrator at Meadowood Manor in 1995. After retirement she enjoyed knitting, dancing, coffee groups and eating ice cream!

Gerda was predeceased by her parents Fritz and Adeline Jordan; her sister Diana (Dick) Abel; and her daughter Brenda Chernoff. She is survived by daughters, Tracey and Laurie; grandchildren Jordan and Lauren; her special niece Shelley (Bill) Caswell; and numerous cousins and friends.

Special thank you to Sterling House Assisted Living, Rosewood Supportive Housing and especially Golden Links PCH. Thank you for all your support and kindness.

Due to Covid-19, a private family service will take place at Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel in Winnipeg. A memorial service will take place in Canora, SK at a later date with burial in Canora Cemetery.
