George had a great career and a profound effect on many geology students at the UofM. He will be missed as he continues his journey to check out those outcrops on the other side of the river. Condolences to his family, friends and the many students he imparted his knowledge to along the way.

So many fond memories over the 50 years I have known George: his dry sense of humour, stories of his seniors' hockey team, his hunting adventures with Petr and Norman (usually involving his "estate" at Sprague), and chatting with him between periods during the 1st version of the Jets. I will remember his kindness and his insight. And I will smile when I think about him. My sincere condolences to Laura and the family he loved so very much. God bless.

My condolences to George’s family. I graduated from the Dept. of Geological Sciences in the mid-90’s and fondly remember Dr.Clark at field school and teaching 2nd year petrology.

George was the professor in my very first lecture in my initial year at U of M. His calm demeanour was inviting as he spoke. As an older student I began to engage in stories of grouse hunting with him which often resulted in realization of my limited shooting abilities by comparison. Rest well George.

George was a good, decent, gentle man, except when throwing a check on the hockey rink. His farm is a special place, and those in the know will remember the “308 rules”. He lived by, and believed, the months describe by Aldo Leupold, nary a bad word about anyone or anything. He will be missed.
