GEORGE FIDLER

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of George Fidler, with his wife by his side, on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 87 years. He was born in Portage La Prairie on August 7, 1933.

Left to cherish George’s memory are his loving wife Marion of 45 years; stepchildren Donald, Kelly (Joanne), Regan Halfyard and Shannon McRae; daughters Bonnie Collins and Diana Nunnerley; sister Annabelle (Jim) Stewart as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Louisa and George Fidler and brother Carl.

George was in the trucking industry for many years. During that time, he made many close friends; some of whom he has remained friends with throughout the years and even taught some of them how to drive. He earned his three-million-mile accident free pin and had driven in every state except Vermont, of which he was very proud.

A celebration of George’s life will be announced at a later date, Covid 19 restrictions allowing.
