Gail Victoria Duncan (nee Land)

Peacefully after a brief illness, it is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gail Victoria Duncan (nee Land).

On April 16th, 2024, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Gail took her last breath alongside her children, grandchildren, and extended family.

Gail resided in Winnipeg with a short stay in Swan River, from birth until her death.

Gail was cherished by her son David [Jennifer], Brenda [Garth], Robert [Debbie], Matthew, Emilie, Courtney, Danika, Ryder, Parker, and their partners.

Gail will also be lovingly remembered by her sister Donna, as well as several close cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family, relatives, and friends.

Gail was predeceased by her parents, Doris and Earl Land, her brother Barry, sister Valerie, brother-in-law Wayne.

You could always find Gail in front of the VLT’s. She thoroughly enjoyed casino trips with her mom and sister. She loved South Beach Casino or any casino for that matter. In addition, she was the organizor for Bingo night at Hamilton House. She had a love for the horse racing at the Assiniboia Downs. Bowling was always a family affair with her kids and numerous friends at the Village Inn and St. James Lanes. Summers at our family cottage at Winnipeg Beach were always a good time, where she enjoyed playing cards with the family.

One of Gail’s greatest passions was cheering on her children and grandchildren at various sporting events, baseball, bowling, golfing, gymnastics, hockey, soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, jiujitsu and billiards/pool.

Gail was always hustling. She worked very hard as a cashier at Zellers spending almost 20 years with the company. She always had a smile on her face and funny joke for her loyal customers.

The Celebration of Life will take place on April 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at the Lounge of St. James Lanes,1805 Portage Avenue. Winnipeg, Manitoba.
