FRANK STORIMANS

January 24, 2012

FRANK E. M. STORIMANS January 30, 1930 – January 24, 2012 We regret to announce that peacefully after a lengthy illness and comforted by his loving family Frank passed away at the age of 81 years. Left to forever cherish Frank’s memory is his loving wife Nelly, of 55 years of marriage; sons Roland (Marilyn), Frank JR., Mark (Bea); grandchildren, Kevin and fiancé Laura, Brittani, Jared, Tyrell, Kayla, Kelsey, Tyler, and Braylen; great-grandchild Trevor, whom he adored; brother Joe (Rieky); sister Elizabeth from Winnipeg; brothers Theo (Elle) from Calgary, Johan and sister Annie in Holland; as well by numerous nieces and nephews. In 1961 Frank immigrated with Nell and their children from Tilburg, Holland to Canada. He worked as a baker for Dominion Stores for 16 years and then fulfilled a dream of owning his own business. Frank and Nell operated the Belgium Bakery on Corydon Avenue for 15 years until retirement. Frank and Nell then spent their early retirement years wintering in Lake Havasu, Arizona and enjoying the summers at West Hawk Lake which they considered their home for the last 50 years. Frank was a jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed doing all types of construction and renovation work. He could always be found helping his neighbours and friends at home and the lake with all their projects. When he wasn’t building something, Frank loved to care for his plants and flowers or listen to classical music which he was very passionate about. In compliance with Frank’s wishes a private Service will be held at a later date. We thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for the care and compassion you showed him in his last weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 – 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.   As published in the Winnipeg Free Press on January 28, 2012
