FRANK BARSKE

May 10, 2012

FRANK BARSKE 1915 – 2012 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Frank Barske, just weeks before his 97th birthday, at Beacon Hill Lodge on Thursday, May 10, 2012, after a lengthy illness. Left to mourn Dad’s passing are his son Lorne and wife Brenda along with their sons Kevin (Dr. Heather and their children Claire and Logan), Blair (Laura); daughter Fern and husband Victor along with their children Sherri (Wayne and son Maxim), and son Jeffrey. He was predeceased by his loving wife Jean in 2006 after 62 years of marriage. Together, Frank and Jean owned and operated two grocery stores and a hotel while still providing a loving, happy home for their family. After retirement, Dad and Mom loved driving trips to the mountains and luxury camping outings in the Whiteshell. A private family Funeral Service was held in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue, on Friday, May 18, 2012, with Rev. Msgr. Ward Jamison, presider. Our sincere thank you to the wonderful, caring staff at Beacon Hill Lodge that took great care of dad over the years. He couldn’t have been in a better home. Although our hearts are breaking daddy, we know that it was time for you to go. May God Bless you and keep you in His loving care for all eternity. You were a good, gentle man and a good father. We love you, we miss you and we pray that you now Fly with the Angels.   As published in the Winnipeg Free Press on May 19, 2012
