FRANCIS (FRANK) WILLIAM CARDAMONE
November 18, 1922 – May 29, 2019

It is with deepest sorrow that our family announces the passing of our dearly beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather Frank at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his daughters, Barbara (Bob) Taylor, Cynthia (Dale) Fuga and Brenda Winchar (Barry), grandsons, Graham (Kristen), Adam (Jessica), Brad (Kristee), Gavin (Tiffany) and Cory (Jill), great-grandchildren, John, Nina, Ellica, Hailey, Maya, Dominic and Jagger, and brothers, Kim Richards and Tom (Marie) Cardamore of Toronto, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Florence after 57 years of marriage, his parents, Frank and Blanche, sister Peggy Farrow and sister-in-law Connie Richards.
After graduating from Kelvin High School, his first employment was with Salisbury House where he met his future wife, Florence Wachna. A few months later he was working for Swift Canadian where he retired, as a Supervisor, after 37 years. He was a member of the Swift’s Supervisors Club and spent many years with the Royal Canadian Signals (militia). After leaving Swift, Frank worked for a short time at Burns Meats and the Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation.

Frank and Florence married in 1946 and resided in St. Vital for 35 years where they raised three daughters. Their main hobbies were gardening and camping with all of their daughters. Frank’s pride and joy was, however, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and beloved pets, Smokey and Kia. He loved being surrounded by them. After their children were married, Frank and Florence continued babysitting their grandchildren and took them camping from babies to their teenage years. They had many happy memories of swimming, picnicking and sitting around the evening campfires with them. Frank was happiest in their company as “Papa”.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019 in St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place, Winnipeg, MB, with Rev. Fr. Michael Koryluk presiding. Entombment will follow in the Assumption Chapel Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave.
Our family would like to thank the staff and care team of Middlechurch Home for all they did for Frank during his stay with them; and a heartfelt thanks to his wonderful tablemates, Maria, Mavis and Ron who watched over him, helped him and prayed for him.

As an expression of sympathy, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, 280 Balderstone Road, West St. Paul, MB R4A 4A6 or to a charity of your choice.

“Dearest Dad, rest in peace.
God is taking care of you now. We will love you forever; until we are all together again.”
