FRANCES ANNE COWARD

February 27, 1950 ~ May 28, 2020

Peacefully, after a lengthy illness with Parkinson’s, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frances Anne Coward on May 28, 2020 at the Heritage Lodge in Winnipeg. Fran was born in England but lived most her life in Winnipeg. She died at the age of 70 years old. She is survived by her husband Don, her sons Deryk (Aliyah) and Brett (Jen), her grandchildren Danika, Khalil, Azam and Aahron, her sister Lynne (Bill), and her nieces Kari (Mark) and Kelsie. She was predeceased by her parents Bert and Lindy.

Fran stayed home to raise her boys and enjoyed it immensely, going on long walks in the park and taking them to museums and libraries. She later enrolled in nursing school and worked as a nurse at HSC for several years before retiring approximately 20 years ago. In her early retirement years, she spent precious time with her first grandchild, Danika and always had a special bond with her. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her sons and grandchildren. She loved to spend time with them including spending long summers in the backyard swimming. Fran had a passion for traveling, in particular, to England to spend time with her Auntie Jean, Uncle Jim and her many cousins. She loved music and to attend local concerts with her girlfriends. Fran was best known as an avid Coronation Street fan, unwilling to miss a single episode. Fran was known for her great affection for animals, especially dogs.
