October 22, 1917 – February 7, 2019
On Thursday, February 7, 2019, Eveline quietly passed away at Charleswood Care Centre at the age of 101 years.
She is survived by her nieces Janice Mattrick and Lynne Henderson in Vancouver, BC and nephews Grant Dunsmore in Vancouver, BC and Dr Garry Potter in Waterloo, ON. She was predeceased by her sisters Madeline Doyle, Alice Henderson, Claire Doyle, Nora Dunsmore and Marguerite Potter.
Eveline loved painting and music. After her retirement from Canadian Pacific Railway, Eveline took up piano lessons again and in 1997 on her 80th birthday, completed her Grade 7 in Piano with the Royal Conservatory of Music which she had started in 1929.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 14 at 1:00 p.m. in St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place, in River Heights, with Father Wayne Morrissey presiding. Inurnment of Eveline’s cremated remains will follow in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue.
A special word of appreciation to Mrs Bev Lischinski along with the nurses and staff of Charleswood Care Centre, who cared for Eveline.
